Arlene Anderson Gourd Art at The Bow-Legged Cowboy
Handcrafted one-of-a-kind, unique gourd art by Arlene Anderson
Why gourd art? The ancient craft of gourd pyrography
Texas artist, Arlene Anderson, has taken the ancient craft of gourd pyrography and elevated it into extraordinary fine art pieces. Her passion for art and love of nature is revealed in these exceptional works of art. Each gourd is carefully selected for it's durability and natural form that best expresses her unique artistic designs. Arlene's work is prized by nature enthusiasts, interior designers and art collectors throughout the country who appreciate the warmth and lasting beauty of nature itself. Experience the wonder and creativity of gourd pyrography through these fascinating pieces of art work.
Arlene Anderson's love of nature is reflected in her artwork. She enhances the beauty of the natural form of hard-shell gourds by means of pyrography and sculpting. Much of the inspiration for her art comes as a result of being a nature enthusiast, which is why she chooses to create most of her work in an outdoor environment. She also is inspired by her love of God's Word and often inscribes a scripture reference on the work that relates to her design. Arlene's studio is located in Denton, Texas.
Arlene was featured in the October 2007 issue of Cowboys & Indians magazine as their Artisan of the Month.
